Step aboard at the atmospheric quay of Hotel Arsenaal and let yourself be carried away by Delft’s rich past. On the spot where your sloop is moored today, heavy-laden VOC ships once docked, full of precious cargoes such as spices, silk, porcelain and tobacco. This historic berth, safely within the city walls and directly connected to Delfshaven via the Schie, was the beating heart of the trading city of Delft around 1600.

As a guest of Hotel Arsenaal, you depart from a unique and historic place, where merchants and seafarers once began their voyages. As you drift along, the centuries-old warehouses, bridges, and canals reveal tales of the past.

You will sail past historic facades, charming bridges and atmospheric quaysides. As you calmly cruise along the canals, you will discover the city in a way that walking or cycling is not possible.

And that’s exactly why we’re introducing the opportunity to rent a private sloop at Hotel Arsenaal, exclusively for our hotel guests. From the end of July through August, you can rent a sloop every Sunday. Here’s how it works: rent a boat (maximum 5 people) and receive a generously filled picnic basket worth €85 including a light lunch, drinks, and a selection of snacks. You’ll then sail a unique historical route, allowing you to discover Delft from a fresh perspective while enjoying quality time together. Reserve yours here.

You will encounter all these beautiful elements during your cruise.
